BAproject计划单位(蛇口)荣幸呈现三周年特别展览“段一凡:承载之轻”。艺术家段一凡以大漆为母语,在材料所构筑的漫长历史语境中,持续进行着一场关于“轻”与“重”的美学辩证。段一凡的创作轨迹,是一条从繁复走向纯粹的减法之路。对他来说,大漆不再只是一种材料,而是一段被压缩的时间,一种文明的“沉积岩”。它所携带的千年工艺史,既构成语言的富矿,也形成表达的负重。早期对复杂工艺的深耕,逐渐蜕变为对手痕与物质性的隐匿,大漆在他的手中从视觉的主体,渐次转为“透明”的媒介。他的创作轨迹,亦是从平面的“绘画性”向立体的“物性”的一次战略性转移。它包裹日常之物与现成品,却不在物体表面附加形态,反而以“消失”的方式,挑战着被包裹物原有的认知框架,重塑物与观看之间的微妙关系。

BAProject is proud to present the third anniversary special exhibition, "Duan Yifan: Lightness of Being." Using lacquer as his native language, the artist Duan Yifan engages in an ongoing exploration of the aesthetic dialectic between "lightness" and "weight" within the extensive historical context shaped by the material.Duan’s creative trajectory is a path of reduction, moving from complexity toward purity. For him, lacquer is no longer merely a material, but rather compressed time—a kind of cultural “sedimentary rock.” The millennia-long history of craftsmanship it carries constitutes both a rich vein of expressive language and a burden of representation. His early deep engagement with intricate techniques has gradually transformed into a concealment of manual traces and materiality. In his hands, lacquer shifts from being the visual subject to becoming a “transparent” medium. His creative evolution also marks a strategic transition from the planar “painterly” to the three-dimensional “objecthood.” While it envelops everyday objects and readymades, it does not impose forms upon their surfaces. Instead, through a process of “disappearance,” it challenges the original cognitive frameworks of the wrapped objects, reshaping the subtle relationship between the object and the viewer.
